This creative process was largely focused on tapping into the emotions that surrounded my childhood. In a world that is so ever-changing I believe that to be your most authentic self, you must tap into who you once were. It is this grounding and self reflection that brings us to a place where we can be our best selves, and grow into all we are meant to be. This ideal is the main focal point of the collection.

The backbone of my collection stands on being able to evolve as a young women while still being able to be yourself.  My Childhood Illustrations played as a large focal point of inspiration for this collection.  Being able to look back at who I once was and use that to leverage into who i want to be was a special and exciting part of this process for me.

 

As I began to think more about my struggles and apprehension of moving into adulthood, I am taken back to one of my favorite movies; Peter Pan - The Boy who never wanted to grow up. Although I  wish we could all live in a place like Neverland, this collection has become that space for me, creatively. By mixing classic silhouettes and oversized knits, I am playing with the juxtaposition of expectations - adulthood, femininity and the comfort of childhood.

Our journey through life is constantly evolving. There is not a switch that we can hit to make us jump back in time, but this collection has allowed me to tap into the young girl I once was. I hope to keep channeling her within my day to day life as well. I hope this collection takes you to back to these places, and memories, and helps you reflect a more authentic version of yourself.
